Friday, June 26th, 2015

Today the elementary students:
  • played the warm-up game "Name 3 Things" during the morning meeting
  • played yoga games with all of the poses that we have learned this past month
  • concentrated on level-specific grammar instruction (grade 1: common and proper nouns, grade 2: the present perfect tense, grade 3: adverbials)
  • listened to and discussed several fables
  • took a stroll over to McDonalds for an ice-cream treat
  • practiced our summer camp poem
It has been such a pleasure teaching and spending time with these students this past month!  They have been a fun bunch. I hope they enjoy the rest of their summer holidays!

Today the elementary students:
  • created a summer camp chain during the morning meeting
  • learned and practiced new yoga poses (bumblebee breath, arrow, shark) along with previously learned poses
  • concentrated on level-specific grammar instruction (grade 1: common and proper nouns, grade 2: the present perfect tense, grade 3: adverbials)
  • listened to and discussed the story of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves
  • continued writing in our summer camp notebooks by writing down the recipe for apple dump cake
  • made more pizza and apple dump cake with our new recipe
  •  practiced our summer camp poem

  • concentrated on level-specific grammar instruction (grade 1: common and proper nouns, grade 2: verb tenses, grade 3: verb tenses)
  • listened to and discussed one of Richard Scarry's short stories
  • made pizza
  •  practiced our summer camp poem

Today the elementary students:
  • played the warm-up game "Never Have I Ever" during the morning meeting
  • learned and practiced new yoga poses (dolphin, gorilla, and dancer) along with previously learned poses
  • concentrated on level-specific grammar instruction (grade 1: common and proper nouns, grade 2: exact nouns, grade 3: verb tenses)
  • went on a field trip to the Science Museum where the students were able to play game that tested their knowledge on disease prevention, experience an earthquake simulation, take a ride in a flying house, and enjoy simulated snow
  • listened to and discussed the story of The Three Wishes
  •  practiced our summer camp poem
